Elīna Garanča, the renowned Latvian mezzo-soprano and one of the world’s leading opera voices, was the main star of the benefit gala for the Teatro Colón Foundation. The event, held as part of the Aura series—the lyrical concert program by MH Live and Elisa Wagner—took place on Saturday, October 18, in the Golden Hall of Teatro Colón. After dinner, Garanča performed Mon cœur s’ouvre à ta voix (from Samson and Delilah), Musica proibita (by Stanislao Gastaldon), and Habanera (from Carmen), accompanied by Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau.

At the closing, the Minister of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, Gabriela Ricardes, thanked the Teatro Colón and all those who support its Foundation, including businessman and artist advisor Roberto Devorik. “His work, his love for the theater, and his dedication have made it possible for us to have the honor of listening to the greatest singers of the 21st century, such as Garanča,” she said.
